A Zara no le gusta ser una princesa y prefiere las fiestas clandestinas en el pueblo.

Pero cuando la obligan a casarse con el príncipe heredero de un reino vecino las cosas cambian. Aborrece la idea, pero… es su deber y ambos reinos necesitan mostrar un frente fuerte. Además, ¡¡¡él es tan guapo!!!

Han pasado diez años desde la Gran Guerra. Los más jóvenes no recuerdan mucho de aquel conflicto (incluida la mimada y sobreprotegida Zara), pero otras personas lo perdieron todo. ¿Es posible que quede algún rencor latente? ¿Buscarán venganza? ¿Cómo?

La protagonista puede resultar un poco insoportable y superficial al principio, al igual que su doncella. Sin embargo, el desarrollo de los personajes está bastante bien logrado y he acabado apoyando a la pareja principal.

En cuanto a los giros, se puede prever bastante fácil lo que iba a ocurrir. Hay dos puntos de vista en la narración, lo que estropea un poco ese aspecto sorpresa de la historia. Aún así, hay algún twist que ha conseguido sorprenderme en los últimos capítulos.

Después de varias decepciones y abandono de libros durante estas últimas semanas, me he alegrado de haber escogido esta historia y, la verdad es que me he quedado con ganas de saber más.

Eso sí, me hubiera gustado que avanzaran algo más en esta entrega, aunque está claro que es un anticipo para un segundo libro, y por cómo está escrita supongo que acabará siendo, al menos, una trilogía.

Como narrativa, tiene algunos pequeños fallos de continuidad. Creo que está autopublicado (no he conseguido verificarlo aún), y quizá eso haya afectado algo en su proceso. Pero, en general, está bien y es una lectura entretenida.

De cara al futuro, tengo expectativas muy favorables para esta joven de 19 años, su relación romántica y también sus amistades. Realmente creo que mostrará una personalidad más interesante en el próximo libro y estoy deseando ver cómo evoluciona, tanto como personaje y como persona.

Zara does not like being a princess and prefers hidden parties in the village. But when she is forced into an arranged marriagewith a neighbouring realm prince… things change. She abhors the idea, but… it’s her duty and both realms need to show a strong front. Besides, he is reeeaaally handsome!

Ten years have passed since the Great War. The youngest don’t remember much about that war (overprotected Zara included), but some others lost too much in it. So, is there any latent feud—and will they seek revenge? How?

The MFC is a bit annoying at first, and her maid was just as shallow. However, the development of the characters is quite well executed and I ended up somehow rooting for the main couple.

As twists go, I could clearly see what would happen. It has two clear PoV that spoil that aspect of the story a little, but it ended up surprising me in the last chapters.

After the DNF disappointments of the last weeks, I felt happy to have chosen this book and I’ve found myself wanting more.

That said, I wish they had accomplished more in this installment, but it was a clear set-up for a second book, and I imagine at least a trilogy.

As a narrative, it had some minor continuity issues. I think it’s self‑published, and that may have something to do with the process. But overall it holds well.

I have very favorable expectations for this 19yo woman and her love interest and friends. I really think she’ll show a stronger personality in the next book and I’m eager to see how she evolves, both as a character and as a person.
